Mason Matthias

I’m a builder, a traveler, and a student of what makes a life well-lived.

I grew up working with my hands and ran a small carpentry business in the Twin Cities through my early twenties. At 26, I stepped away to travel - building out and traveling in a camper-van, learning Natural Building methods in Guatemala, working on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington - figuring out what kind of work actually mattered to me.

Now I’m based in Minneapolis, bringing everything I learned into high end finishes that honor both craft and the people I build for. I care about details that last, spaces that feel like home, and doing work I’m genuinely proud of. Whether it’s custom built-ins, detailed trim, or a full remodel, I approach each project with the same intention: create something worth keeping.

Sustainability matters.

I spent time in Guatemala learning natural building techniques - working with local materials, understanding how structures respond to their environment, and seeing firsthand what sustainable craft looks like. That experience deepened my respect for materials and reinforced why I prioritize responsible sourcing and low-impact finishes in my finish carpentry work today.

I’m always eager to work with clients who want to prioritize sustainable materials, non-toxic finishes, and responsible sourcing. Whether that’s reclaimed wood, low-VOC stains, or FSC-certified lumber - I can help you make choices that are better for your home and the environment without compromising on quality or durability.
